It is no surprise that in 2005 UNESCO gave this protected area the status of World Heritage Status, which reaffirms the Mexican government\u2019s commitment to protecting this park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/national-marine-park-loreto-5-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1978\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The park comprises 5 main islands and many islets, and a vast area that is home to <strong>891 fish species<\/strong>, <strong>including 90 endemic fishes and a third of the world\u2019s cetacean<\/strong> species are found in the Sea of Cortez together with <strong>695 plant species<\/strong>, &#8220;<em>more than in any marine and insular property on the World Heritage List<\/em>&#8220;, according to the <strong>Ocean Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coronado Island <\/strong>is the idyllic place for boat trips for a picnic on its ivory sand. Walk among its cliffs to find caves and lagoons to snorkel or dive. The island originated from a volcano and has become home to flying fish, dolphins, and sea lions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Isla-coronado-national-park-loreto-bay.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1955\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Danzantes Island<\/strong> is surrounded by turquoise waters full of marine life. Back on land, admire the sea lions, dolphins and fish of all sizes and colors. Here you can find a coral bank and the iconic &#8220;honeymoon&#8221; islet, with a stunning white sand beach.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/isla-danzantes-national-park-loreto-bay.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1956\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Isla del Carmen<\/strong> is a private nature reserve with a display of uninhabited houses, sports centers, a church and cemetery, built during the exploitation period of the salt deposits, in 1984.
