{"id":3294,"date":"2022-06-20T22:09:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T04:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/blog\/?p=3294"},"modified":"2022-06-30T11:57:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T17:57:19","slug":"solmar-foundation-news-love-for-cabo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/blog\/solmar-foundation-news-love-for-cabo\/","title":{"rendered":"Solmar Foundation News: Love for Cabo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When I listen to the stories of Members and friends who have fallen in love with Cabo, and <strong>have made this paradise their home away from home<\/strong>, I feel even prouder of this magical destination <strong>Solmar Hotels &amp; Resorts have helped to thrive and shine<\/strong> along the years <strong>through the devoted work of Solmar Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent story I heard of, first hand, is that of <strong>Leticia Ordaz<\/strong>, an Emmy-nominated anchor\/reporter at Channel 3 in Sacramento, CA and member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and California Chicano News Media Association.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Leticia-ordaz-profie.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3323\" width=\"309\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Leticia-ordaz-profie.jpeg 398w, https:\/\/members.solmar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Leticia-ordaz-profie-237x300.jpeg 237w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 309px) 100vw, 309px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Her love for Cabo<\/strong> started some years ago when she was vacationing with her family, and a tropical storm was about to hit our shores. Her sons were flying a kite, but the strong winds took it away\u2026 Then, some kind local people offered the boys to rescue the kite for them, and so they did regardless of the imminent hit of the storm. That brave, disinterested act touched her heart, and valued the kindness of the people from Cabo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leticia contacted me a few years later, when she knew about Solmar Foundation and the causes we support, and <strong>offered to read her most recent book<\/strong> \u201cThe Adventures of Mr. Macaw\u201d \u2014inspired by the amazing anecdote of her kids\u2019 kite\u2014 <strong>to the children of La Hermosa, a community in vulnerable conditions<\/strong>.
